This new one-day course is ideal for those fitting radar for the first time, buying a vessel already equipped with radar, and those wanting a deeper knowledge of operating procedures.  The course covers the use of radar as a tool for navigation and collision avoidance.

The course can be presented in two ways - on board, or in a classroom using simulators.

By arrangement, up to 4 students can be accommodated on the Instructor's boat, or a students' boat providing the Instructor is satisfied with the set-up of the radar and access to the equipment.  The course fee in this practical scenario may be correspondingly greater for a smaller number of students.  However, as is to be expected, the learning opportunities in the real-world environment are consider higher.

Key Benefits

bulletLearn how to avoid the classic 'radar-assisted collision'
bulletMaximise the value of the financial investment in radar
bulletIncrease confidence in low-visibility situations
bulletLearn to set-up radar correctly

Capabilities

MMYC Instructors are able to tailor the course to suit students' previous experience of radar, and to the characteristics of the vessel on which it is installed.
